Abbot’s Hall Weddings at the Food Museum offers a range of wonderful possibilities for your wedding day, whether it is a ceremony only, daytime or evening reception, or having the whole day with us here on site. We offer a range of unique and heritage venues for each part of your day, all set in stunning 84 acres of landscaped estate in the heart of Suffolk and the lovely traditional Suffolk market town of Stowmarket.

The Food Museum is one of the most unique wedding reception venues in East Anglia. The picturesque location hosts a luxury marquee looking out onto Abbot’s Hall, a grand Queen Anne House. Surrounded by woodlands, lawns, stables, a walled garden and a beautiful conservatory, the estate creates picture perfect opportunities to capture memories that last a lifetime.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days you’ll experience, and we want to ensure the day exceeds all your hopes and dreams. We are a dry-hire site which means the day should be uniquely yours and we’ll work with you to create a day you and your guests will remember for the rest of your lives.

When we host your wedding, you will have many options for your celebrations such as our magnificent lawn, state of the art marquee, charming walled garden and the orangery. You also have the option to extend your celebrations to the medieval Abbot’s Hall Barn. Our beautiful barn retains its rustic charm and is the ideal venue for an evening reception or ceremony. With numerous opportunities for breathtaking photography from the moment you arrive, your wedding car can pull up to the front of the Hall before you move on to your private and secluded wedding ceremonies and receptions.

We take pride in our friendly and professional approach, which sets us apart from other venues. Our flexibility allows us to incorporate your ideas and create the perfect day for couples, regardless of their budget.
We do not impose restrictions on catering or suppliers, giving you the freedom to choose what works best for you. For those who are budget-conscious, we offer the option to decorate the venue yourselves and source your own suppliers, allowing you to personalize your special day while staying within budget.
We have a wide range of options available to help you make your wedding unique, personal, and tailored to your preferences.

Please get in touch with Marie Taylor, our Events Manager at marie@foodmuseum.org.uk if you have any questions or would like an introductory chat without obligation. Marie will be more than happy to talk through your ideas and how we can help you make them a reality.
Our wedding season runs from 1 April-3 October each year. We also have mid-week packages and winter packages in our dining room and conservatory all year round.
