Food Museum Weddings offers a range of wonderful possibilities for your wedding day, whether it is a ceremony only, daytime or evening reception, or having the whole day with us here on site. We offer a range of unique and heritage venues for each part of your day, all set in stunning 84 acres of landscaped estate in the heart of Suffolk and the lovely traditional Suffolk market town of Stowmarket.

The Food Museum is one of the most unique wedding reception venues in East Anglia. The picturesque location hosts a luxury marquee looking out onto Abbot’s Hall, a grand Queen Anne House. Surrounded by woodlands, lawns, stables, a walled garden and a beautiful conservatory, the estate creates picture-perfect opportunities to capture memories that last a lifetime.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days you’ll experience, and we want to ensure the day exceeds all your hopes and dreams. We are a dry-hire site which means the day should be uniquely yours and we’ll work with you to create a day you and your guests will remember for the rest of your lives.

Weddings at the Food Museum are charming and characterful. Surrounded by heritage, rooted in nature, and supported by excellent hospitality and passionate staff.
A full day wedding at the Food Museum may include a ceremony on the back lawns of Abbot’s Hall, our Queen Anne house that takes centre stage in this part of the 84-acre museum. Recently renovated, this creates the perfect backdrop for your vows whilst the ample lawn and shady trees offer a relaxing area for your wedding party to enjoy your ceremony.

Your guests may then enjoy your wedding breakfast in our Marquee, decorated by yourselves or your suppliers in advance of the day. Seating up to 160, this is a space that can be adapted and presented as you wish, with the whole day prior to your booking available for setup and décor.
As the evening draws in over the Food Museum, you and your guests can head down to The Barn to continue your evening celebrations. Again, recently renovated to an extremely high standard this building is the oldest in Stowmarket and it’s now celebrated in all its glory. The 14th century Barn is the ideal place to celebrate with further evening guests, with ample space for dancing and eating. Perhaps you’ll use our glade area to provide woodfired pizza or a gourmet BBQ, as you relax into the evening hours of your wedding day.
Food Museum Weddings allow flexibility, from full day celebrations as above to smaller, intimate celebrations over a few hours. We have some truly unique spaces to hire, from the larger Marquee and Barn to our beautiful Fishing Lodge island or The Chapel. If you want something truly different, we also have many outdoor spaces licensed for weddings. We would love to show you around and help to create your ideal day here at the Food Museum. Please contact us via the contact form to book a visit.

Please get in touch with our events team at bookings@foodmuseum.org.uk if you have any questions or would like an introductory chat without obligation. Our events team will be more than happy to talk through your ideas and how we can help you make them a reality.
Our wedding season runs from 1 April-3 October each year. We also have mid-week packages and winter packages in our dining room and conservatory all year round.
