A stunning new bridge will give public access to the Fishing Lodge for the first time, thanks to support from DCMS/Wolfson Museums and Galleries Improvement Fund, Suffolk Growth, Trusts and private donors.
Built in the mid-18th century, this building was used by the former residents of Abbot’s Hall as a summerhouse to take tea while looking out over the tranquil pond.
Alongside using the building for small weddings, from April 2025 onwards you can pre-book the Fishing Lodge as a private space to take afternoon tea.
From £30 per person, you will have the Lodge and island to yourselves for 2 hours to enjoy a picnic hamper. The minimum party size is 2 and the maximum is 8.
